PWC Ride – 2019 Edition

THE LARGEST PWC GATHERING IN CANADA!

Club APRIL Marine (formerly the Regroupement des Plaisanciers du Québec) held its annual PWC ride on Saturday, July 20th at the Port-Lewis marina. On the day’s agenda: warm sun, summer breeze… and 220 PWC in the water!

Nearly 300 avid jet skiers from across Quebec came out for an incredible day marked by crystal-blue skies and a “real-feel” temperature of 40°C. Playing in the wake of several hundred PWC was definitely the place to be! True to tradition, the APRIL Marine Insurance and Club APRIL Marine teams were on-hand and pumped to greet participants with plenty of surprises, including giveaways of towels, sunglasses, beach balls, copies of the French-language PLAISANCE magazine and waterproof phone pouches – along with a free lunch on the water.

Many thanks to the Port-Lewis marina for its warm welcome and generosity. Thanks to the marina, we were able to smoothly launch 150 PWC in record time! And at the end of the ride, the marina treated participants to a tasty BBQ. Talk about a great end to a great day!

This year, safety comes first!

The Canadian Coast Guard was on-site in the morning to educate our jet skiers about good practices on the water. The police were also on-hand to ensure a safe and a smooth event.

The day’s route was designed and adapted by Pierre Chiasson, who led the group with the help of a few additional guides. Our thanks also go out to the Club Motomarine Montréal PWC club and its three guides: Julien Bédard, Sebastien Carrière and Jonathan Hayes.

The annual PWC ride is offered free of charge to all Club APRIL Marine members and APRIL Marine Insurance policyholders. It’s also open to the entire Quebec boating community as a way of promoting responsible and safe watersports. And thanks to you, this event has become the largest gathering of jet skis in the entire country!
